Hello Leafs Nation,
As the reality of the lockout hits us like a ton of bricks, the already depleted stock of exciting hockey news seems to shrink by the day.Despite this unfortunate delay, WeWantACup has been hard at work trying to bring you
– the fans – as much analysis, updates and coverage on the Leafs as possible. Lockout or not, we’re committed to talking hockey, and sparking conversation amongst fans. Since Leafs game-day talk will be postponed until further notice thanks to the billionaires v. millionaires battle that is well underway, we intend to start talking Marlies as early and often as possible. Recently, we were rewarded for our hard work and have been given the opportunity to attend Toronto Marlies games as game-day reporters, and coincidentally a vacancy has opened up on our personal roster.
As we did a few months back, we will be holding an application session for anyone interested in being our game-day reporter. One corollary to this opportunity is that we would need the reporter to be local to Toronto, such that he/she could attend Marlies home games. This is a wonderful opportunity for personable, friendly, hardworking individuals who love to write often, and hope join our team at WeWantACup!

To apply, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Fill in the following
Name:
Hometown:
Current commitments (ie. High-school, University, full-time/part-time employment?):
Availability to attend Marlies games regularly (yes or no and how often)?
What makes you a good candidate for the position? (200 words max.)
What sort of writing experience do you have?
STEP 2: Write
Pick a game from last season and write up a game-day style recap (research is encouraged, as statistics from the game or player stats at the time would strengthen the piece). An intro and conclusion should be included.
STEP 3: Submit
