TML Watch for February 8th
TML Watch for February 8th
The Toronto Maple Leafs had their three game win streak snapped in a poor showing against the Winnipeg Jets yesterday night. The Buds lost by a score of 2-1
in a game that saw Jonas Gustavsson between the pipes. The Leafs are in Philadelphia to take on the strong Flyers tomorrow night.
The team had a full day off from on-ice and off-ice workouts today. They will skate in the morning tomorrow at Wells Fargo.
LEAFS MAY NOT MAKE A TRADE
About a week ago, it seemed the next hour would feature a Maple Leafs trade taking place. Fast forward to February 8th, and Brian Burke may just not make a deal at all. The price for any player is extremely high at the moment, and that is what is believed to be causing the delay on the flurry of trades. Many teams want to make a deal, but the amount of sellers are very few which has made agreeing upon a trade to be extremely difficult.
Bob McKenzie reported that the Leafs are less likely to deal either of Nikolai Kulemin and Clarke MacArthur.
WINTER CLASSIC ANNOUNCEMENT
The announcement is expected to be made tomorrow from Comerica Park in Detroit. The Detroit Red Wings will officially host the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2013 Winter Classic outdoor game from the Big House in Ann Arbor.
For the Maple Leafs, they would become the first Canadian team to take part in a Winter Classic. I wonder who Canada’s team is?
Brian Burke went on record saying that he would allow his team to take part in the “24/7” HBO Series that features two hockey teams, in depth on the road to the Winter Classic if his team would take part.
